星空ARRANGE
The Haunted House: A Perfect Maid

Shoving other thoughts out of your mind, for now, you concentrate instead on being the best maid you possibly can be, however disturbing you may think it should be. You make it through the evening meal without mishap: bringing the trays from the kitchen, serving at the high table (ghostly maids are serving at the lesser tables), and clearing things away. You even manage a demure curtsy or two when the situation seems to call for it.

After the meal, you're kept hard at work cleaning up, first the dishes, and then when the dining room is vacated, there as well. Finally after hours of hard non-stop work, you're allowed to take a break. Surveying the now-spotless dining room, you allow yourself to feel a momentary surge of pride. Sure, it may have been hard work, and sure, you may have been turned into a girl to do it.. but damn if you didn't do a good job at it.

So good, in fact, that the ethereal lady of the manor offers you a permanent position in her household. You blush demurely and curtsy, nodding acceptance before your mind kicks in. But, by the time you realize what you've accepted - permanent probably means a lot longer to a ghost than it does to a mortal - it's too late.

It's only in the few moments you have to yourself where you don't have to keep the maid façade in place that some part of you regrets the decision. But that little, male voice fades somewhat with each day, and before too long, even in your infrequent 'free time,' you're wholly committed to your new life...

...and when the time comes, to your new afterlife as well, lingering on as a ghostly maid.
