The stairs creak and groan a little spookily on your way up, but if they hadn't, you'd've been a bit more creeped out. A door stands open at the top of the landing, leading into an elegant bedroom. Two other doors are closed, and a tentative attempt to open them reveals them both to be locked, so you might as well give the open room a try, first.

Two steps in, however, the door slams behind you, and you turn to see a ghostly apparition hovering midair looking for all the world like an enchained angel drawn by Tim Burton.

You manage to duck as it throws a small globe at you, but with screams of "thief," "intruder," and "pervert," it's probably best not to linger longer here. Unfortunately, the Poltergeist is between you and the door. You might be able to fight past it, but as it gets ready to fling something else, mayhap that's not a good idea. A quick glance around the room reveals a large, walk-in closet that you could hide in, unlikely as that seems.
