星空ARRANGE
The Haunted House: Only Thirty-Nine Winks

The hardest thing that you've ever done...

...is to not submit to the sleepiness that's stolen over you even as you keep your eyes closed and breath slow and shallow, pretending to drift off to slumberland - if you're not careful, it won't be pretense for very long. The second hardest is to not investigate the changes that you felt, but haven't seen. If you even so much as raise you head a little to look, or move a hand to touch, the poltergeist will know you're not really asleep and will likely remain and read to you until you do actually doze off.

Therefor, it is with great relief that you hear the book close and the droning voice of the apparition cease. Out of caution, you wait a few minutes longer, hoping that it leaves the room.

Cracking an eye open just slightly, you scan the room quickly, detecting nothing out of the ordinary, well, considering the situation. This, then, is followed by the third hardest thing you've ever done - convincing your weary body to get out of bed, and not just give up the battle against sleep.

For five minutes that seem like centuries, you struggle until you are finally able to impose your will upon your exhausted young body, silently sitting up and swinging your feet off the side of the bed. It takes another several minutes to build up the willpower to stand, but once you get on your feet, making your way to the door isn't all that hard.
