Albeit with some misgivings, you agree to let the cat attempt to activate your powers. Maybe she's wrong after all, and if you flat out refuse, likely she will pester you until you give in.

Besides, as long as it isn't a permanent change, it could be interesting...

Kokoro, as she's named, steps back and looks up at you, a beam of light shooting from her heart-shaped patch to strike you in the chest, just to the left of your heart. The air reverberates with the sound of a gong and your whole body goes tingly -- pins and needles all over. Vaguely you're aware of the light turning to a cloud of shadowy, heart-shaped motes and the faint trills of a flute as you're slowly levitated.

You feel yourself shrinking, becoming more ... delicate ... as your body changes to a girl. The motes swirl around, rendering your body to that of a silhouette to outside viewers as your clothing fades away. Your legs stretch, becoming longer and more shapely. Your waist becomes more trim, giving you a feminine profile even as your hips flare slightly and as you're graced with a moderate bust.

Your hair billows out gracefully, becoming much longer than it had been, then gathering into an asymmetric ponytail, black scrunchie holding it in place.

As you settle back to the ground, you can feel the swish of a skirt about your thighs and the gentle bounce of your breasts behind the sailor-suited top of your magical girl uniform. Black skirt, white blouse with black accents on the capelet and sleeves, and a black kerchief. Other than the fluttering, butterfly-wing like bow behind you, it could almost be a regular schoolgirl uniform, though likely they'd have real shoes and not a pair of strappy pumps, with the straps crisscrossing all the way up to your knees.

After a few moments of dazed confusion on your part and smug satisfaction on Kokoro's part, she teaches you how to 'revert' out of magical girl form. And ... fortunately you return to normal. It might be awkward, but it is workable. Now, if you encounter the girls again, if they're in a fight, you can maybe do something instead of merely watch.

It takes you a few solo tangles before you fully work out how to move and fight in a foreign body, but once you get it, it almost seems awkward to go to school as a boy.

Over the next several months, you seem to develop a sort of intuition or sixth sense about the monsters that are plaguing the city, showing up just in time to help the team of four girls out of a tight spot, and then disappearing when the fight is done.

You worry about getting too 'close' to them, since you're not sure how the other girls would react to you being only a part-time girl. It's almost a pity that you can transform back to being a boy - if you were permanently a girl, then you might be able to make friends with the other four...
